Mood: sad.

You were a wonderful being - I won't say "cat" because you were better than that - a friend, a pillow, a confidant, a playtoy for Lee. My mellow man. We'll miss you.

Sam and I are going to NO this Saturday to go see a play that my sister's boyfriend's cousin is in. The play is called Shine After Dark- Comedy Showcase for Mature Audience and it's at the Flour Power bakery in Chalmette. It starts at 9 and runs about an hour and a half. Tickets are $15 and you can buy drinks and desserts at the bakery.

If anyone is interested in coming with us, you are more than welcome to, just let me know by Thursday so I can tell Erika so they know about how many seats to reserve.

Subject:Lots of good things
Time:12:46 pm.
Mood: happy.
Lately I've been a little "ugh, too much going on, not enough time to get it done just feeling yucky blues" type feelings. Then yesterday my sister sent me flowers at work - made me smile. Plus I have a picture of my adorable little man (yes, I know, I need to post more pictures of him!) sitting on my file cabinet staring at me. He's so cute!!! My other sister made a really cute Santa outfit for him so we got some Christmas pictures of him in his little hat and I must say that I have the cutest baby in the world (okay, one of the cutest, because Evan is pretty darn adorable, too). Anyway, this morning I ended up sleeping in and taking my sweet time getting to work and that definitely helped out my mood. AND, last night we found Lee's first tooth! His lower left tooth has finally broken through after 3 months of teething! AND, this morning Sam went in to get him up and do you know what the little snot was doing??? Standing up in his crib!!! It is definitely time to lower that bed. And he is way too young to be standing already. My little baby isn't a baby anymore :( He's been pulling up a lot but hasn't quite managed the whole pull into standing position thing. He's getting so big.

Ok, back to the whole reason I started this post (I get distracted by my son way too easily). Checked my grades today and guess what! I got an A in Chemistry. Whohooooo. I am doing a little happy dance all around my office. Me, an A, in CHEMISTRY!!!! I so rock! ok, back to work for me now. As I do little mini happy dances in my chair. Blah mood has been banished for a little while. Leaving work early today to attempt to get things accomplished before the hectivity of the weekend ensues. dinner with friends then bag party tonight. Frank's party and Rugby party tomorrow night. Stelzer Christmas bake-a-thon tomorrow and Sunday. Crazy house for Mandy on Monday. Alright!

Time:1:44 pm.
I lost 36 pounds on this diet!. That's right - I'm down 16% from my original fatass weight. Now I just need to start working out on that beautiful piece of equipment in the garage so I can get my butt back. I am so very happy - don't think I've weighed this little since I started college - that's 9 years ago! Very happy about that. Now just need to tone what I have.

In other news, I am going to open a new business - it is going to be the Lilliputian Leche and Laundry Bar, where the little people can come get their clothes washed and gorge on the milk buffet while they wait. I've gotten pretty good at it the last few weeks - need to watch out, though, starting to feel like I am a milk machine. Thank goodness for pumps and bottles so Sam can have his time with the little man and mama gets a little time for herself. Ok, off to change some stinky pants and put the man down for his nap. Then it's cookie baking time! Been in a baking mood lately, although unfortunately the cookies I made for Sam all burned and he doesn't want any of the other kind I made b/c they have Andes mint chips in them (which he can't stand). So we're trying a different kind today. Peanut butter cookies with chocolate tops. Hopefully I won't burn these.

Time:5:52 pm.
Mood: cheerful.
Haha - I'm not wearing any clothes right now :) Got our bags mostly packed (at least with all the important stuff) so if the little man decides to make an appearance any time soon, we are ready (or at least as ready as we'll ever be). Now I am off to shower and get ready for a bachelorette party this evening. Hope the little man comes this week - I'm tired of work. But if he decides to wait a while longer, I'm ok with that. So far not feeling bad yet - even took a short jog yesterday (yes, me who is pretty much 9 months pregnant went running in the rain b/c I forgot to roll up my van windows before the short downpour yesterday and the running didn't bother my belly at all - could be b/c he's so far down already that there's no jiggle room left, who knows).

Ok, now to the shower so I am not horribly late for dinner. Adios!

Subject:Free Huskie to good home!
Time:1:59 pm.
I am looking for a good home for a (I think) 3 yr old female Huskie. She is fixed and up to date on all her vaccines and is a good dog, but still has many of her puppy qualities and A LOT of energy! She sees cats and other small animals (like little dogs) as play things, so if you have other small animals, they would need to be able to hold their own against her. She likes to run and chew, so she would need toys and room to play. Please, please, if anyone is interested let me know. She is really a sweet dog, she's just a bit needy (kind of like a kid with ADD, you just need to give her a bit of extra attention and things to chew that are good). She is not my dog, my parents inherited her through my sister along with my sister's other dog, so they have 3 dogs at home, and it's just too much for them. Keep your ears and eyes open for anyone who would like this dog.

Subject:So sad ...
Time:9:02 pm.
Mood: frustrated.
Have you ever really craved something and nothing else really tasted good until you got the thing that you were craving? So far, I've been a pretty reasonable pregnant lady (or at least I think so) and I haven't demanded any midnight runs to the store for pickles and ice cream or anything like that. Haven't really had any cravings (although Coke tastes really good right now, and I don't usually drink a lot of soda) but for the last few days I've been looking forward to Blue Bell's Mardi Gras ice cream. Oh, my mouth waters just thinking about it. All I want is a nice big bowl of the creamy goodness that is Mardi Gras. So we went to the store today to get cat litter and rabbit food and I decided that we needed this ice cream, and considering that it's now king cake time, the Mardi Gras ice cream should be in the freezers. But there was no luck at Walmart. Only an ice cream called King Cake. So we stopped at Calandro's on the way home so I could get my Mardi Gras. No luck there either, but the Blue Bell man was stocking the freezer so I asked him when they would be getting Mardi Gras in. AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE TOLD ME!!!!!!! They are not making Mardi Gras this year. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!??!!!! How can they think that this King Cake ice cream is even going to come close to Mardi Gras??? Mardi Gras was soooo good (I admit, it was a little bizarre to look at - kind of looked like you were eating Barney) but it was sooooo good, almond amaretto ice cream, makes me want to melt when I taste it good. And they replace it with cinnamon ice cream with pastry pieces and a ribbon of vanilla frosting. WHAT??!! No comparison there!!! I don't want your silly cinnamon ice cream - I want the frosty tasty Barney ice cream :( So now my craving will never be cured and I will be forced to suffer through the rest of my pregnancy with no almond amaretto ice cream. I might just have to splurge and see how big of a container of ice cream I can get from Marble Slab, since they have plain amaretto - not quite the same, but it will have to do since BLUE BELL IS NOW THE DEVIL!!!! So I've decided that I will boycott blue bell, since they didn't even bother asking me if they could discontinue my ice cream - the nerve of them.

So I am now off to try and enjoy a bowl of peanut butter ice cream. Not my amaretto, but it will have to do for now.

On a completely unrelated note - the little man is such a tease. My mom was over yesterday and was trying to see if she could feel him move, and right before she put her hand there he was moving a little hard, but the minute she put her hand there, he softened his movement, so he was still wriggling around right underneath her hand, just too soft for her to feel. He does the same thing to Sam, he'll be kicking and wriggling and dancing, until Sam tries to feel, and then he'll either quiet down or stop altogether. But that's ok, we still have 3 1/2 more months for Sam to feel all the kicking he wants.

Subject:oooh, breakin' the law
Time:2:54 pm.
Mood: okay.
Shhh, don't tell Big Brother I'm posting at work!

My sister has requested a list of possible invites for a baby shower. I know and love a lot of wonderful people, but I am not sure how many of you would want to attend a baby shower. (I have always been of the slightly inhibited mindset that inviting people to showers is just asking for gifts and I feel guilty asking people). But for all of you that actually would like to attend a baby shower for the little man waiting to make an appearance, just let me know, and if I don't have your address, email me your address, too (use the email address on my info page).

Also, short baby update: Sam finally got to feel him move! He kicked him a few times on Sunday - yay!

on another note - babies in your belly make you have really weird dreams. I never used to dream all that much (I know, people say everyone dreams, just not everyone remembers; but I never really entered REM sleep that often, so never had that much opportunity to sleep - my sleep was all wacky before I got pregnant, and now the baby is like a giant sleeping pill, it's awesome). Anyway, the dreams lately have been a little weird or really, really bizzare. It's kind of fun.

ok, got to get back to work before the man catches me being illegal :)

Subject:Most entertaining quote of the day . . .
Time:9:55 pm.
Mood: amused.
The setting: We are sitting in the car and Sam is blowing into a computer microphone.

Mandy: "What are you doing?"
Sam: "That is my dolphin impression."

THE QUOTE: "They are beautiful mammals and you are a beautiful mammal, so I thought we could communicate."

Then Mandy proceeds to laugh so hard she almost wets her pants.

I love my husband - he's insane sometimes, but I love him none the less :)

Time:6:04 pm.
So I was about to be all proud of myself for not needing the man around to do the repair type work in the house - but the fixing that I did didn't fix it :( The light in our garage is not in working condition due to the fact that the part where you screw in the lightbulb is missing. So today when I was at Lowe's I picked up a new light thing and read all the instructions (and even remembered to cut power to the garage so I wouldn't electrecute myself) and got the whole thing hooked up, cut the power back on and nothing! I was quite disappointed because I really would like some light in my garage other than the laundry light and the little socket adaptor thing that I have to go plug in all the time - I want to ba able to flip the switch that's in my halway (and what else would the switch be for except the light in the garage?) and have the light come on. Maybe there is a problem at the switch end and not the light end - maybe I'll go and see if I can't figure it out - If you guys don't ever hear back from me -it's because I have either electrecuted myself or blown up my house :)

On the plus side - I got my azaleas planted, hopefully they'll stay alive now. Need to go back to Lowe's tomorrow and get more rocks, though.

Time:12:42 am.
Mood: accomplished.
Damn, it's amazing what I can get accomplished when I get going and get this crazy cleaning bug in me. So far today I've done:

1) went grocery shopping at fruit stand, winn dixie, and walmart
2) cleaned both bathrooms top to bottom (including getting brillo pad and scrubbing muck out of tubs and putting new nonslip thing stickers on bottom of tub and getting back behind the toilets and cleaning grime back there - ugh)
3) rearranged some of plants in back yard, repotted a bunch of plants, hung planters on sides of house and in windows
4) finished putting shelf up in garage and cleaned entire garage, hung bike hooks and then hung bike from ceiling (and that sucker's heavier than I thought!), organized shit on peg boards (yeah, yeah, I'm a little OCD, but that's ok, because my garage is beutiful)
5) baked 4 dozen cupcakes - half devil's food and half french vanilla
6) did a bunch of laundry

Now all I have left to do is:

1) fold all the clothes that are sitting on my bed (some how don't think this one is going to get accomplished)
2) icing all the cupcakes with the hordes of icing that I have left over from all my other baking projects
3) clean up kitchen
4) vaccumm
5) sweep and mop kitchen

Sometimes it is a good thing that I am an insomniac - much better to get things done around the house than to lie in bed and wish I could fall asleep. The only down side is that my feet hurt now. Maybe I'll soak them as I fold clothes.

Time:9:00 pm.
So my husband just locked me in the computer room because I am 'a crazy woman' and now he is in the shower. What he failed to realize was that dinner was in the oven and it's almost ready - so if his dinner tonight is burned, that's his own fault. Not the crazy lady's :)

Time:3:59 pm.

1995 Ford Taurus, AC, radio in great condition, comfortable car, missing rear bumper, but that gives the car character. New air bags, new battery 11/2003, clean, huge trunk that could probably fit at least 5 dead bodies (or live ones, if that's your thing). Sad to see it go, but can't have 3 cars on insurance. Selling it for $550, or best offer, and sold as is
